It had a name one I was later to forget.
It was called Massospora circadiana this was a original a fungal pathogen that infected a species of beetle known as cicada.
I was doing my job searching the jungles of the Amazon for unusual specimens of trees as may be a possible way to save future trees from disease.
We finished for the day so I went back to our camp to catalogue our findings and to have a bit of rest and tuck into much needed food and have a shower to wash away the sweat from toiling in the amazon.
I was casually eating my beans and rice when I felt a tiny bit on my leg which felt like someone had pricked me with a sharp needle.
I looked down to see the creature that inflected this temporary pain and saw it was a hybrid of a Magicicada Tredecassinia species of beetle normally lives on Africa; Australia; Asia so this one that just bite me must be a new species as it was so unknown to the amazon.
I was just about to find a net to place it in when it spread it's micro sliver-like wings and disappeared.
Feeling a bit tired I decided to call it a day and get into my sleeping bag for some much welcomed shut eye.
As I lay in my sleeping bag awaiting for the sandman to dust me some dreams I felt a little off colour and my stomach was feeling a bit unsettled ,at first I just put it down to jungle belly.
Something was moving around in my stomach is could see brown tiny speck s all over my abdoman.
My body was becoming inflected ;I could feel rear segments of my abdomen falling off when I managed in my weakened state to unzip my sleeping bag and crawl out like a worm .
I shaked my sleeping bag out and on the ground of the tent were white chalky mass of a fungus:which before my stunned eyes I see it was producing spores.
I felt the need to walk around dragging my aabdomen; I try to scream out on pain but my voice is mute.
Then it stops and I drop to the floor.
I awoke on a hospital bed and my wife and family by my side.
I was told by the consulant that I was extremely lucky that I was found by one of my fellow research students whom recognised I was in a state of anaphaylactic shock due to my block airways so he rised my legs into a comfortable position to keep my blood flowing to my vital organs.
After some time I was rushed to nearest hospital with a helipad and given a antidote stronger than a epipen.
A month later I was back in my country cottage just thinking about how lucky I was.
Me and my wife had some me time I managed to fertilize one of my wife eggs making her pregnant.
Six weeks later we both wenter along to get a scan to tell us if we were expecting a boy or a girl.
This is where things got a bit odd as when the nurse did the scan she let out almighty scream and went running to get the doctor.
The doctor took each of us into an examination room and asked us to strip off.
We both did so willingly :he took a look at our private research and said we both need to come to his office straight away.
We both seat down on very uncomfortable chairs and then he told us.
"I afraid to tell you but you are both sterile and the thing inside is not a baby but what looks like millions of spores of some sort of fungus;we must inform you it be best if you abort these creatures "
So this is how I became aware of how just a simple fungus and the damage it affict on your life.

GHOST S BY MARK ANTONY RAINES
A wet leaf fell on her shoulder making her jump in fear. Startled she shifted from her hiding place behind the bush.
The air was cold;her heart beating like a drum:her anxiety going through the roof .
The wind gathers a pace ;suddenely she hears a crack of a near by tree branch.
She feels sweaty hand place on her shoulder ;this makes her startle .
She turns around.
"Boo"
Oh stop being a pratt John:i dont like playing this game anymore can we go back home"
Jonny a blonde haired;slightly overweight walks off with Jayne a dark haired ;slightly underweight girl back through the woods to the house up the lane.
The house is a little worse for ware and could do with a few things that need mending a good lick of paint and then after this graft it look respectful again.
As Jonny and Jayne enter the house the front door slowly creeks slams shut which echoes around the house like a bad yodal .
Both Jonny and Jayne climb up the stairs each step making a noise similar to squeaking mouse then thier reached the landing .
The nursery door flies open and the babies cot is rocking back and forth ;the chimes hanging by the cot spin around and around; the sound of a baby crying but when you get closer to the cot their is only a doll dressed in baby clothes suckling a dummy.
The floor boards creek at every foot step;a black shadow stands in the corner letting out a maniacal laugh.
Both the children stop dead in thier tracks keeping very still as if turned to stone .
A clock chimes times twelve ;midnight has arrived in the plutonian darkness as all the lights in the house go out at once.
Both children let a ear piercing screaming until no air is left in thier tiny underformed lungs.
Thier skin goes a dull blue colour then suddenly the light s go back on .
'Surprise :Happy Birthday "
Jonny and Jayne let out a huge sigh of relief :thier cheeks get flushed with a bright red.
Jonny and Jayne tell everyone how relieved that it was not ghost s in the house just thier friends giving them a surprise birthday party.
Jonny "I liked the dark shadow creature in the corner ;that was a nice touch "
Jayne said 'My favourite bit was the creepy doll:it made me shiver all over my body "
All the people at the party just looked them in a confused manner.
Finally one of them said.
"What dark shadow :we placed no doll"
Both Jonny and Jayne were stunned and amazed.
In a corner of the room sitting in the darkness of the shadow s sat a raggy:disfigured doll and next to her a dark shadow looked on :both waiting for the party to finish to care on thier haunting.

The email recieved in my spam folder i nearly ingored but it was marked urgent and contained a secret code word only i and my friend knew so i opened the file to see what was so urgent.
Date 13_12.1997
To Mark
Please believe what i am going to tell you as it my sound like the ramblings of a madman.
I was working in a secret laboratory on a project for famous people to be able to go out and be impossible to film or take photograghs .
My idea was to burrow the way possible criminal subjects are blured out on the television screen by using a minute area on illumination on the display screen and making them distorted so it just a series of pixels .
After some tests on rats it seemed to work but i needed to know if it would work on a human subject .
Thats when i decided to use myself as a guinea pig.
For the frist ten minutes the experience was exciting;scary all in one go.
I am ahead of myself:i injected the disgiuse solution in to my body, my temperture raised;i began to feel week,my face felt like an army of ants was crawling all over me .
Then my face became less tight and my pupils in my eyes could see monochrome:shades of white ;black and hint of grey.
Then suddenly i realised that this new condition was perminant as much as i tried it would not go away;concerned for my wellfare one of my lab assistists came rushing in the sealed room without his haphazed suit.
He began to cough and splatter and in less than thirty seconds his face and body were covered in pixels untill he fainted on the floor and i had to watch as he was eaten alive ;nothing left but just a few dust particles.
Then i realized that my new creation was highly contagious and i must warn the world before it too late and it becomes a modern day pandemic like the black death.
So please Mark inform your audience on your podcast about the end of thier known preception of the world is coming to an end.
Yes i realize this is a modern way of saying its the end of the world is nigh but more effective than a man standing at a corner carrying a handmade sign looking like a bad body double gandalf with his long white beard and dishevelled clothes.
I hope you get this before its too late.

My Doctor s don't like me by Mark Antony Raines

My doctor s has banned me from Twitter due to the fact I complained about a recent visit to them for a blood test.
I walked down with my Step son as not got a car and no volunteer car available due to covert 19.
When we arrived it was very confusing where you were meant to line up of go for appointment due to lack of signage .
We walked around to the front of the building and then ask a member of staff in the pharmacy who rudely told us it was in the staff carpark.
So we went to said car park to find it was totally open with no shelter as only geared up for car visitor s ,then we had to wait 15 minutes over time given ,luckily it was not raining or freezing cold.
As we were awaiting I saw a member of staff or perhaps a outside health professional with a dog in hand and dog basket enter the building without no face mask covering and then I saw said person set up for the day ,read link.

BE A HERO. WEAR A FACE MASK. SAVE A LIFE
JACKANORY -I BECAME A SUPERHERO BY MARK ANTONY RAINES
Once upon a time before the year of our Lord 2020,I was just a overweight,some say obese boy who wished people would respect him.
At school all the other children would laugh at me,play practical jokes like covering the toilet with cling film,telling me to buy a left handed pencil.
At physical education they would hide my clothes,or when it was a cross country run make me the scapegoat when back late,as their had stopped to have a sneaky cigarettes.
Then to make things worse school had to stop due to a world wide endemic,causing the world to stop and shut down like some bizarre zombie apocalypse.
I Jonny the protagonist of this tale has to stay at my home,trying to my home work whilst my little baby sister was screaming her little head off,eat only one hot meal a day as that all my my mum could afford as she was on a thing she called furlough.
I tried to contract my so called friends on zoom,a virtual conference app but everyone said they were busy.
Then I saw on the news about how people were expected to wear a face mask or covering to help protect ours from getting covert 19 .
So inspired by this although at the age of five I decided to make my own face mask covering by going online and following the instructions.
The very next day I put it on and proudly told my mum I now a superhero because by wearing my face mask covering I was helping to save someone else.
My mum cried,and said I really was a wonderful boy.

MY SCIENCE FICTION JOURNEY BY MARK ANTONY RAINES
My strange science friction journey began as I was walking down the street in my way home to my bungalow a group of people dressed totally in black,or should I say non white as it getting confused if I say that colour I may be indirectly insulting people of that colour.
Anyway these people introduced them themselves as technologists from the far off future who were looking for subjects to do a complete life swap with,I thought about it for all of ten seconds and readly accepted on the spot as at least it was
an escape from the doom and gloom of coronvirus.
So I was beamed up onto a spaceship and strapped to a cold steel table,I joked please if you are going to insert a prob at least but me dinner frist,I just got tumbleweed.
Then I awoke in my new body as I had a cheeky peek at my self in a near by reflective surface I realised two things,I was green and no longer a human but an alien to boot.
Its the year of our Lord 1920 and we had crashed landed in a small island somewhere in the South Pacific,this was most unfortunate but we managed to survive for a further hundred years keeping the our existence a secret from the mostly hairless,different body shaped bi peds know as humans.
But soon due over population and exhausted resources we had to go into the city centre of the nearest mainland where we disguised ourselves as street buskers.
We soon raised enough funds to set up Nano Repair s gone wrong which was not the most enticing way to offer a serious of offers including time travel at discount prices.
One of our clients with a lot of help from us found a cure for Alzheimer's but it did have an unintentional side affect it changed which sex you where and you could only speak French,oh La la.
One invented bionic body parts with a twist wheels for feet,weaponized limbs,sunglass eyes but a hacker broke into the code and people ended up doing crazy stunts that somehow got filmed an appeared on YouTube funny complications.
We had a teacher come in with the idea to brainwash all the children in the world,we had to explain this was already been done by us inventing video games and making them highly addictive.
A local care home had a great idea on their residents reaching hundred years old they would reverse them to their ten year old selves and hire them out as cheap Labour or put them into foster homes to obtain my money.
Due to raising popular Intergalactic cruises from other alien species we had to convince people it was all an illusion and not unidentified flying objects.
I feel something pulling at me,a siren alarm goes off the background,my name is being called in a eerie voice.
I open my eyes ,I am back in my comfortable bed with a comic by my side,my science fiction journey.

Cold rain firms snow on the ground,
The mansion is looking grand,
From the upstairs window I can see you outside,
A lady dressed in Red,
She is standing by the tree looking furlorn,
I wander what she is thinking about in her mind,
I the Lady in Red am planning to kill you all in your beds,
This is for the terrible crime you committed against my person,
I the The Lady in Red am looking forward to our my axe through your neck and watching your head roll on the floor.
The light s in the mansion go out,a tremendous scream crys out,
The Lady in Red leaves
All is quiet ,only the birds can be heard in the trees

CREEK (The Unfortunate)
A group of friends driving to Las Vegas to attend a Horror convention decide to stop at a roadside attraction promising the opportunity to find gold. After being told about the ghosts who haunt the Creek, they head into the woods to test their luck disbelieving what has been told. Soon the friends decide to leave, but their car is missing and the roadside attraction is permanently closed. The only thing left to do is venture back into the woods and search for their car or anyone that could help, but after one friend finds hidden gold the ghosts of the Creek begins to stalk the group out of vengeance.

Due to pressure this dog has had his name removed from his memorial as it's deemed offensive to people of colour,but it's ok to use a version s of this word in rap songs ,double standards

Nigger was a male black labrador retriever belonging to Wing Commander Guy Gibson of the Royal Air Force, and the mascot of No. 617 Squadron. Gibson owned the dog when he was previously a member of 106 Squadron. Nigger often accompanied Gibson on training flights[1] and was a great favourite of the members of both 106 and 617 Squadrons. He was noted for his liking of beer, which he drank from his own bowl in the Officers' Mess.[2]

"Nigger" (Morse code: -. .. --. --. . .-. ) was the codeword Gibson used to confirm the breach of the Möhne Dam. Nigger's grave is at Royal Air Force station Scampton, Lincolnshire.[1] In July 2020 the headstone was replaced, with his name removed. The RAF said it "did not want to give prominence to an offensive term that went against its ethos".[3

LIVE AID SATURDAY 13-JULY -1985-35 YEARS AGO -13-07-2020
My personal memory of a major international music eve live aid which had numerous artists doing a live gig at Wembley Stadium,London,England and across the pond at John F Kennedy Stadium ,Philadelphia,America.
At this time of my life I was living in a bedsit based in Southend -on -Sea ,Essex ,I was working down the arcades,the last one on the one mile long seafront road ,just cleaning,collecting money.
I remember watching most of it on the television outside broadcast on BBC 1.
