SUSAN LAUBACH AUTHOR, PLAYWRIGHT, ACTRESS,EDUCATOR _WWW SUSANLAUBACH.COM

Susan Laubach is an expert in personal finance and investing and can speak eloquently on that topic while entertaining your listeners. More specifically, we have outlined discussion/debate topics in the media kit. You can find the media kit will complete book and author details here. A sampling of these topics include:

- Being a Loaner vs. an Owner. There are many other forms of bonds with lesser-quality ratings than AAA: AA, A, BBB+, BBB, BB, etc. Only BBB+ and higher are considered “investment-worthy.” The remaining ratings are given to so-called riskier “junk” bonds, the interest and principal payments of which may not be paid due to potential financial problems for the issuer.

- Always Understand How a Company Makes its Money. Sometimes a company’s best-known product isn’t the one that’s profitable for that company. E.g. Some years ago, a restaurant chain was teeming with customers at all times but stock analysts reported that the company was losing money, not making it, as a visitor to its stores might have assumed.

- Beware Irrational Exuberance and Never Confuse Brains with a Bull Market. Never pay too much for shares of a company’s stock. A useful “formula” is the so-called “PEG ratio” which simply states that the company’s price divided by its estimated earnings per share (stated as “P/E “- the “/“ being a signal to “divide”) compared to its estimated growth rate in earnings per share should be equal to or less.

Your Conscience: The Key to Unlock Limitless Wisdom and Creativity and Solve All of Life's Challenges by Leonard Perlmutter (Author),

The book offers a straightforward explanation of the four functions of the mind, according to the ancient wisdom of Yoga Science: the senses, ego, unconscious mind, and the Conscience. Readers are taught how - and why - to coordinate these four functions in order to live the joyful life we all long for. Our mind is continually generating thoughts which lead to actions, and the Law of Karma states that every action brings about a consequence. Understanding how to harness the power of our thoughts, then, is critical to making choices that lead to positive consequences.

Rethinking Your Teenager: Shifting from Control and Conflict to Structure and Nurture to Raise Accountable Young Adults Kindle Edition by Darby Fox (Author)

The teenage years. . . parents fear this stage, dreading it even while watching their adorable toddlers explore the world. When it arrives, they try to control their teenager, in turn causing their teenager to push back more intensely. It's a natural instinct on both sides: teenagers are changing in every way while trying to assert their independence, and parents are faced with the challenge of coming up with rules, expectations, and standards for behavior without a genuine understanding of what is happening. But the result of this pattern is a parent-child relationship defined by conflict and reactivity--a breeding ground for stress, anger, and anxiety, all of which reinforcing those same cultural stereotypes and worst fears.

But it doesn't have to be this way. In this book, family therapist Darby Fox challenges parents to redefine the goals of adolescence by reorienting their focus from what they want their child to be to on who they want their child to be. Darby not only equips parents with the insight to understand the changes taking place in their child's brain and body and support their adolescent's bid for independence, but also offers an approach that allows parents to engage their adolescent in a relationship instead of struggling in an endless battle for control. The book is organized around a series of persistent myths about adolescence, each of which the author tears down with a combination of cutting edge neuroscience research, developmental psychology, and her own mix of clinical observations and experience raising four children.

Darby offers a new model for the parent-child relationship, encouraging parents to let go of the attempt to control their teenager and focus instead on creating mutual respect, providing structure and nurture, and encouraging independence in their developing teenager. She walks through the keys to combining structure and nurture and teaches parents how to connect with their teen while holding them accountable for their behavior. If parents approach teen years with the same thoughtful preparation, sense of awe and wonder, and responsibility that they do the early childhood years, it can be an enjoyable and rewarding developmental stage that deepens, rather than damages, parent-child relationships.

Performance Kindle Edition by Rosie Ward (Author), Jon Robison (Author)

Imagine a world where everyone can come to work as their authentically human, best selves. They feel fulfilled, supported, and cared for and have meaningful, purposeful work. At the end of the workday, they are able to bring their best selves home, be fully present with their loved ones, tend to their well-being, and replenish their well.

This vision is possible. And it is desperately needed!

Our rapidly changing world is becoming increasingly complex and disruptive. And while it brings many opportunities for innovation, it also triggers people to operate from a place of scarcity and self-protection, leading to disconnection and eroding well-being—on both the organizational and individual level. As a result, workplaces have become increasingly dehumanized and are now the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. We have a humanity crisis on our hands!

The good news is that there is a revolution already underway where organizations are breaking the mold and finding success by honoring what it means to be human and putting people first. In fact, research continues to emerge showing that human-centered organizations significantly outperform those operating from a “business-as-usual” approach. And the really good news is that this shift to rehumanize workplaces doesn’t have to start with the C-suite—really! It helps but is not a deal-breaker. Culture ultimately resides at the local team level; and you can transform workplaces by focusing on one team at a time.

This book highlights how successful companies are thriving by putting people first. It details five key principles essential for rehumanizing workplaces; a framework to help restore hope, well-being, and performance; and tangible actions anyone can take to show up as a leader and influence positive change.

———

Rosie Ward is a fierce advocate for humanity who is sought after to help rehumanize workplaces that free, fuel, and inspire people to bring their best selves to work—and home—each day. She serves as CEO and cofounder of Salveo Partners, a professional consulting and training company focused on equipping organizations to find success while putting people back at the forefront of their business. She consults with organizations of all sizes and industries, and coaches and develops people so they can break past barriers, step into their greatness, and show up as leaders in all areas of their lives.

Jon Robison holds a doctorate in health education/exercise physiology and a master of science in human nutrition from Michigan State University. He has worked to shift health promotion away from its traditional, biomedical, control-oriented roots, with a keen interest in why people do what they do and don’t do what they don’t do. Jon is cofounder of Salveo Partners and has been a national leader in the Health at Every Size movement for two decades. Aside from his work, Jon’s passions include his wife, Jerilyn; their son, Joshua; music; humor; and a twelve-pound living teddy bear named Ginger.

———

PRAISE FOR REHUMANIZING THE WORKPLACE

In Rehumanizing the Workplace, Rosie and Jon reinforce what every leader of today needs to know: people thrive in environments where they feel cared for, safe to create and innovate, and part of an organization’s shared purpose. Let this book guide you in building a team or company through which people have the opportunity to become their best selves!

Aligning the Dots: The New Paradigm to Grow Any Business by Philippe Bouissou

It's eight o'clock Monday morning. What do you do to outpace the market and grow faster than your competitors? Aligning the Dots provides a clear answer to that deceptively simple question.

Although many how-to-grow business books have been published, none offer a pragmatic and reliable blueprint for top-line growth that is built on deep data analysis and a universal framework that leads to revealing insights. Without a clear roadmap to growth, a CEO's demands for innovative product development, better marketing, and increased customer acquisition and conversion often fail to produce desired outcomes. An effective leader understands that without clear direction and guidance, teams will revert to business as usual and no amount of inspirational taglines will help the business grow faster.
Aligning the Dots introduces a new paradigm. It's a universal, data-driven and prescriptive methodology, called A4 Precision Alignment™, designed to accelerate any business. Based on the profound insight that the maximum top-line growth rate can only be achieved when a business and its target market are perfectly aligned, this methodology reveals how quantitative measurements of alignment form the base for the development a Growth Playbook.
That blueprint will guide any business to align the dots to outperform its target market and fly past its competitors.

Drag Queens and Beauty Queens: Contesting Femininity in the World's Playground

by Laurie Greene

Publisher: Rutgers University Press (December 18, 2020)

The Miss America pageant has been held in Atlantic City for the past hundred years, helping to promote the city as a tourist destination. But just a few streets away, the city hosts a smaller event that, in its own way, is equally vital to the local community the Miss’d America drag pageant.

Drag Queens and Beauty Queens presents a vivid ethnography of the Miss’d America pageant and the gay neighborhood from which it emerged in the early 1990s as a moment of campy celebration in the midst of the AIDS crisis. It examines how the pageant strengthened community bonds and activism, and how it has changed now that Rupaul’s Drag Race has brought many of its practices into the cultural mainstream. Comparing the Miss’d America pageant with its glitzy cisgender big sister, anthropologist Laurie Greene discovers how the two pageants have influenced each other in unexpected ways.

Drag Queens and Beauty Queens deepens our understanding of how femininity is performed at pageants, exploring the various ways that both the Miss’d America and Miss America pageants have negotiated between embracing and critiquing traditional gender roles. Ultimately, it celebrates the rich tradition of drag performance and the community it engenders.

-- Erin O'Flaherty ― Miss Missouri 2016, first openly lesbian Miss America contestant

"After 30 years in the drag business, I was surprised and elated to learn so much about drag/LGBTQ+ history in Atlantic City. The in-depth exploration of how Miss America and Miss’d America were connected and disconnected is fascinating."

"Through a highly entertaining, insightful, and informative combination of history, ethnography, and gender studies, Greene uncovers the long-standing influence that Atlantic City's LGBTQ+ community has had on the Miss America Pageant."

Chris and Holly Santillo's book Resilience Parenting masterfully distills what they have learned in over twenty years of teaching martial arts and parenting and conveys those lessons in an easy-to-understand and entirely implementable way. Far more than superficial advice, its approach creates sustainable pillars for your child to build their life upon. If I could only recommend one parenting book for someone to read, this would be it!"
—Christopher RappoldExecutive Director of Team Paul Mitchell

"I have known Chris and Holly for a long time. I have watched them teach self-respect and self-mastery in the dojo and then successfully transfer that knowledge to parenting three boys. I know that they have been successful because I have seen those boys come in for immunizations aware and unafraid, get the shots without crying and leave proud of themselves. This type of parenting is worth emulating."
—Dr. Jacki Arnold, MD, FAAPpediatrician and parent

Perfection is the Road: A Hip-Hop / Reggae Book Paperback – by Mr. Corey S. Jobson (Author), 5 stars recommended

Primarily a book of poetry from a spiritual and philosophical bent. But there are also other types of writing mostly intended to illuminate the reader to the processes in the writer's mind that led to the publication of such incredible poetry.
