The Curse of the Camp gun.
A Mark Antony Raines detective mystery
My name is Mark I am a private detective I only just started the job today and I already got my first job investigating the death of the local fishmonger called Dave.
The police had told my client it was a accidental death by Dave slipping of a kipper and knocking his head into the wall.
I could a red herring, why did the forensics leave that can fish behind can it was a stinker.
At the scene of the crime I find a piece of paper and On it tells of a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, damp gun circulating throughout Cornwall. As soon as anyone uses the gun, he or she has exactly 365 days left to live, like all legend s and myths I knew that The truth was out their
The victim appeared a ordinary people during their day to day life, but when photographed, they look translucent. A marked person feels like a sloppy goldfish to touch I did not put this to the test as I had a fear of touching fish since my childhood when mother mmm made me take the fish out her fish tank, even that memory makes me shudder, back to job at hand.
After doing the rounds and walking endless streets I finally get too meet Dave's daughter , Catherine.
As I knock on her door I get no reply ,I peer through the downstairs window and to my shock and amazement Catherine is holding the damp gun I am looking for,I refuse to believe the superstition about this object.
I then witness a very psychedelic collage of images flash into projected from Catherine s mind to mine of a tiny hamster balancing on a chilly fishmonger, an old newspaper headline about a bear baiting accident, a hooded giraffe ranting about moles and a drinking well located in a picturesque place.
When I see that Catherine legs have goldfish-like properties, I realises that the curse of the damp gun is true ,boy was I wrong and my second thought who is going to believe me when I tell them.
I see The cursed gun on the floor I pick it up to examine the gun and unwillingly submit myself to the curse. I find that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the tiny hamster balancing on a chilly fishmonger particularly chilling. I have joined the queue for a supernatural death.
Will I able to stop the curse before my time is up?
The answer to this question is up to you as this is the first part of my story the next part is soonish
