 Years ago, during the run of my podcast, The Holsworthy Mark Show, I had the pleasure of interviewing some truly fascinating guests. One standout was the popular horror host, Bobby Gammonster. That conversation sparked a great connection, and eventually, I asked if I could return the favor and appear on his show, Monster Movie Night.

 In the late 18th century (around 1780–1785), two Scottish doctors, John Aitken and James Jeffray, developed a hand-cranked, fine-toothed chain saw to assist in a procedure known as a symphysiotomy.  

​Here is the context behind that grim historical fact:

​The Procedure: A symphysiotomy involved cutting through the cartilage and bone of the pubic symphysis (the front of the pelvis) to widen the birth canal during obstructed labor. At the time, this was a life-saving alternative to much deadlier options, such as a C-section, which was almost always fatal in the pre-anesthesia and pre-antiseptic era.  

​The Design: Unlike the massive, gas-powered tools used in forestry today, the original medical chainsaw was a small, hand-cranked device. It featured a fine, serrated link chain that allowed surgeons to make precise, relatively quick cuts to bone and cartilage, which was far less traumatic to the surrounding tissue than the chisels and rigid saws used previously.  

​Evolution: Over the 19th century, these medical bone saws (including the Gigli twisted wire saw) were refined for various surgical amputations and bone excisions. It wasn't until the early 20th century that the mechanism was mechanized and adapted for the timber industry, eventually evolving into the powerful, engine-driven tools used today.

It was a day that will be etched in the memory of every Southend United supporter forever. In front of a raucous crowd of 43,306, Southend United cemented their place in club history by securing their first-ever domestic cup triumph.

As fatigue set in and players battled cramp, Andeng-Ndi once again proved his worth, making a vital double-fisted save in injury time to ensure the game went to penalties.

If you are tired of the ultra-serious, world-ending stakes of mainstream superhero blockbusters, this chaotic, nostalgic, and incredibly heartwarming K-drama is exactly the palate cleanser you’ve been looking for.

Reuniting *Extraordinary Attorney Woo* star **Park Eun-bin** with director **Yoo In-sik**, *The Wonderfools* answers the ultimate question: *What happens when absolute misfits accidentally get superpowers?* Spoiler alert: It’s a hilarious, messy disaster.

 * **Ro-bin** inherits super-strength (perfect for a "Sap King").

 * **Kyung-hoon** can suddenly stick to objects like human Velcro.

Witness to this miraculous resurrection is **Lee Un-jeong** (**Cha Eun-woo**), a rigid, rule-following Seoul civic servant newly transferred to Haeseong City Hall, who happens to be harboring a few dark, telekinetic secrets of his own.

Individually, these characters are a complete mess, but together, they are gold. The ensemble cast shines brightest when they are forced to work as a unit. The villains lack the depth of our main crew, and a few of the comedic gags repeat themselves.

However, the show succeeds because it **warmly embraces human deficiency**. These aren't flawless gods saving the universe; they are local townies trying to protect their neighbors.

The tension is suffocating because these people are "amateurs." Watching Tom Burke (playing Guy) and Steve Coogan (playing the recruiter, Don) navigate the psychological toll of lying to their families while dining with killers is what makes the show addictive. It’s raw, unglamorous, and deeply human.
