Darren Midwinter has been a performer and song writer for about ten years. Having lived in the Cotswolds all of his life, he continues to be actively involved in the music scene in the area being a keen guitarist and bassist. His passion for music is not just evident in his performances, but also in conversation.
He cites his influences as R.E.M., Elbow, Radiohead and Crowded House amongst many others including Tom Petty, Genesis, Rush and Paul Simon; constructing heartfelt songs with an accessible twist whilst sonically captivating.
After nine years of songwriting, Darren released his first album Red Sky Perspectives which covers the emotional spectrum; from the delicately arranged acoustic song "The Sea (Standing Still) to the restless arrangements in the lyrically complex "Seven Shades of Light" and the in your face "Look at Me Now". The album itself was composed entirely by Darren and trusted producer and drummer Steve White and recorded, mixed and mastered at Steve's own recording studio called Big Boy Studio in Witney, Oxon and was released in June 2018.
Darren recently stepped into Big Boy Studio in Witney, Oxon again to record some new songs which will be expected to be released in late 2019; which will be in an EP format titled "With Immediate Effect"."
