LOU REED with his band VELVET UNDERGROUND changed music with low fi sound,distotion feedback and seedy lyrics about S and M,,drugs.Not immediately a hit when formed but were chapioned by ANDY WARHOL the bands records became more famous after thier split in 1970,leading mag POLLING STONE called the band  the most infuential  american rock band of the time.IT IS SAID TO HAVE INSPIRED THE PUNK ROCK MOVEMENT.REEDS trademark style and lryrics were fuelled by poets and autors and he was  the frist performer to come out bisexual.
