Let's go on a paranormal road trip to a p lace I call home Devon which is in the South West of England.I going to introduce you to places to visit to experience the paranormal activity involved with their location.

ChamberCombe Manor

Based on Ilfracombe it is  renowned for its haunted happenings, which can be traced back to an event that occurred in the 11th century.The family that lived their during this period took in a woman who had suffered injuries through a shipwreck dispite attempts to revive her she died.Years later residents discovered The haunted chamber where laid on The bed was a woman's remains.It is said that a cradle situated in the room often moved on its own.

The Fisherman's Cot at Bickleigh

Firstly, it is said that the inn is haunted by the ghost of a young lady who is unknown to staff. However, she is said to be a friendly spirit, her raucous laughter often being heard near the bar area of the inn by those enjoying a  pint.Or a headless horseman on Bickleieh Bridge

There are also those who have described not actually seeing the horseman, but hearing the sound of hooves pounding over the bridge.

• The Three Crowns Hotel in Chagford
  Situated in Chagford, The Three Crowns Hotel is a 13 century building that was originally a manor house. It is haunted by two spirits the first was of Mary Whiddon, who was shot on the steps of the manor as she arrived to celebrate her wedding day back in 1641.
  The second is of Sydney Godolphin, a poet and soldier who was brought to the manor to recover from wounds he had received in the battle of Shimish in 1643. Unfortunately, he never recovered and died there soon after his arrival.
  Over the years and to this day, guests still report seeing the wandering ghost of Sydney venturing around the hotel or even more disturbing, walking through its walls dressed in full uniform.
• Okehampton Castle
• Over a thousand years old, Okehampton castle is home to the renowned spirit of Lady Howard who once resided there with her four consecutive husbands, all of whom she joyously killed.
  According to the tale, as punishment for deadly crimes, the evil widow is forced to spend her time in the afterlife making a nightly journey from Okehampton to Dartmoor to pick a single blade of grass. The legend states that only once the hillside is stripped completely bare will she have her freedom.
  It is during these nightly journeys that reports have been made of Lady Howard’s sighting. Locals who have encountered the widow have described her as travelling in a carriage driven by a headless chauffeur, supposedly comprised of her dead husbands bones.
  • The Coach and Horses Inn at Buckland Brewer
    Based at Buckland Brewer, the 13 century pub .Mostly visited by the ghosts of two Cavaliers who stand in the corner of the room and in this room is a hook once used to suspend people as a form of punishment and stay to guard over any person who stays in this room.
    
    
    
    
    Powderham Castle in Exeter
    Predominantly built sometime between the 14 and 15 centuries, known for The Grey Lad y .It is as said if you witness her appearance this is a bad omen.Guests have reported se ein g her floating around the libary.
    
    
    
    
    Buckland Abbey near Yelverton
    Now owned by the National Trust, Buckland Abbey was once the home of Sir Francis Drake who is now believed to haunt the Abbey.
    After returning from his three-year circumvention of the globe, Drake was sold the Abbey in 1580. However, he was unfavourable with locals in the area who believed he possessed supernatural powers granted to him through a pact with the devil.
    According to reports, Drake’s ghost is said to travel across Dartmoor in a black coach driven by several headless horses, followed by a pack of howling hounds. It is also believed that any living dog that hears the packs’ cries will die immediately.
    
    
    Churston Court Inn in South Devon
    Based just outside Brixham harbour is the Churston Court Inn.Noted by its haunting by a great of monks who have been seen by various customers.The monks have been known to blow out candles in the dining room.

    Seafield House in Westward Ho!
    Seafield House, otherwise known as the ‘spooky’ or ‘haunted’ house.
    Built in 1855, the house has had several owners but was originally erected as a holiday home for a London banker named Brinsley De Courcey Nixon.Not as such haunted but due to its decrepit appearance and the eerie stillness people passing have described feeling odd and foreboding.
    It has since been used by the Ministry of Defence to home WWII officers, been turned into a B&B and used residentially.
    
    

    
    

    Shute Barton Manor near
    Between the 15 and 16 centuries, the manor was owned by the Grey family who carried out a number of alterations to the building.Lady Jane Grey family who resided in this building tried to attempt to.put her on the throne of England.Visitors have reported to see a spirit of a unknown lady in the building.

    Built during the early 12 century, Berry Pomeroy Castle .Home to the spirit of Lady Margaret Pomeroy aka White Lady said to haunt the dungeons of St Margaret s Tower.People who have experienced feelings of dread and misery upon seeing her spirit.
    
    
    
    
    Fulford Manor in Dunsford near Exeter
    
    
    The Fulford family, who have owned the property since 1190, have reported a number of strange occurrences including the slamming of doors in various places, sightings of ominous figures in the corridors and most disturbingly, experiencing being pinned to their beds by an invisible force.
    
    
    Saltram House in Plymouth
    
    
    According to trustees, there is a long-standing rumour which states that the untimely murder of a kitchen maid took place somewhere in the property.
    Consequently, it is believed that her spirit, in the form of a hooded apparition, now wanders the halls and dining room, haunting those who encounter her.
