MY OPINION S ON SOCIAL CARE.

 

Why is the social care agencies adopting a policy of emotional blackmail and hiding behind covid and the crisis in social care.
I not going to get political this post is based on current personal situation experienced I shall not name the social care provider or person this affects, the following are just my opinions thier may be wrong but I am going to express them using an article I found by Victoria O,Regan called
Guidance on Complaints Procedure s in Health and Social Care.
I just going to concrete on the
Causes for Complaint in Social Care Settings section of the article.
Disagreement over assessed care needs or how were assessed
In the case of patient x the assessment was done by the manager and and member of social care agency, to be fair this part was done quite well and seemed informative.

Having a service refused

Not refused but by using a form of emotional blackmail said if did not accept staff coming to home to supply care due to not getting on with them,or dislike of constant time change s .
They would refer back to the County care suppliers to get an alternative firm or due to crisis in social care which was even a issue I knew about when I was in carework over ten years ago, or covid despite all rules and regulations to do with covid are relaxed by the current government.

Not providing person centre care

It feels at times to patient x that the carers are clock watching due too time restraints put on them by thier employers.
Charges in service charge
This does not apply, recently we had to fill in a form to state what funds we had,if it comes back that funds have stopped, we decided to cancel the social care agency and I go back to looking after patient x.

Change s to times that care provided

This over the last couple of weeks has been a constant nightmare as the times were recently adjusted to give an unnecessary 15 minutes extra care although as timed care given is 30 minutes yet again the following excuses given by using a form of emotional blackmail saying that if unhappy They would refer back to the County care suppliers to get an alternative firm or due to crisis in social care which was even a issue I knew about when I was in carework over ten years ago, or covid despite all rules and regulations to do with covid are relaxed by the current government.
Plus I think this affects the times of taking medication prescribed as often it states times to be taken, normally some within a 2 hour window but we been told it will be a 4 hour window which could lead to possibly of risk to life.

Issues with how an individual finance s have been assessed.

Yes I am repeating myself alot but we keep getting the same arguments preached at us as if it was the Bible.

Delay s in receiving a decision or being provided with care and support.

Not had this issue so no opinions.

The quality of care received.

This is a major issue despite being informed about applications of creams to areas on body that the tissue breaks down and if gets worse can lead to hospital stays it is a constant battle to maintain a regular routine and reported   this is not all the care staff just certain members, we Complain but treated as if not important and a pain in the arse.

The amount of care received, such as care workers not staying with an individual for as long as should or reduction of hours.

Yes you guessed it like the BBC its repeating loop time for this how the whole situation feels.

Poor communication from care providers or between staff.

No issues with the care staff apart from ones mentioned already in this post.
As for Care Providers communication is sometimes non existing as no one answering phone, email s are never replied too .
We have even been accused of discussing other patients health issues until I pointed out only the agency or care staff would know this information.
Lately as I mentioned thier are using a form of emotional blackmail to make you feel guilty for making a reasonable request it got to stage patient x is not answering the phone when care agency rings as feels no longer being listened too.

Yes this is my opinions have I mentioned them to care agency or County suppliers not as we get peached the same stuff

I think this is a nightmare most in social care are experiencing as I write I don't expect anything to change in fact I think it's going to get worse.
