Taboo subject...Catheter and After effects of incontinence in woman

Yes it's strange that as a man  I am writing about woman problems with incontinence after having a catheter fitted due to hospital stay. This  is due to seeing frist hand the difficulties my wife has gone through due to this very problem. We both feel it a taboo subject and expect other woman have gone through it experiencing the same as I write .Whilst on the catheter her bed  underneath would be wet due to leakage when informing the nurses said not possible. As you can realise this can make you feel embarrassed and affect your mental wellbeing.Since the catheter has been removed my wife has know had to use incontinence pads day and night not a state she expected to be in in her early 60,s and does wish on her more depressed days that she was not here or a burden on me.She is more accepting now but we through this blog post wish to let others out there you have a voice in us.The following comes from a source...I am sorry Enid is having a rough time of it.  It is a subject that many find it hard to talk about and is embarrassing and depressing for those who have had their independence taken from them in such a way.  It is good to share though, and very brave, to let others out there know they are not alone.

Who's to blame?

For some time my wife Enid was being treated for ulcer like wounds on her hip she developed a stomach wound which at first small but got worse to point it was black and smelling and Enid was starting to get unwell. So we called out district nurses to check over and senior matron decide Enid needed to go into hospital at no point did a doctor come out to check her over.Whilst in hospital Enid had five operations in her stomach was put on a vacuum pump to help heal wound this was the second time happen as frist was for her hip ulcers.Enid was back for a week when wound look ed sore yet again no doctor who told over the phone needed to go back to hospital which she f2f but consultant was unhappy as told her that the district nurses could have dealt with it .Who do I blame all of them for failing to their duty and myself for not pushing it.
