Joe Hicks-https://linktr.ee/newlovenewlow.
In the local music scene of North Devon, up-and-coming artist Joe Hicks is making waves with his project ‘New Love New Low’. Combining emotive and melodic hooks with pop punk roots, the music has been described by fans as ‘indie anthems in the making’.
On June 2nd, Joe released his latest single ‘Wasting Time’, which has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews online. The single follows his first release of 2023, ‘Video Games’, which was already praised by BBC Introducing.
Joe is now looking to expand his reach by gigging locally in September. We caught up with Joe to have a chat about his sound and what we can expect from his upcoming shows.
“My goal with New Love New Low is to create music that evokes emotion in the listener. I take my inspiration from a range of genres, from punk to pop, – combining all these different elements to create something different.
“I’m looking to gig in local venues so people can experience the music first hand. My set will include a selection of songs from Wasting Time, Video Games and some other unreleased songs I’m working on.
“I’m excited to perform to new audiences around North Devon and can’t wait to share this music with the world.”
Make sure you catch Joe Hicks and New Love New Low at a venue near you this September! You can find links to his latest singles and social media pages here: https://linktr.ee/newlovenewlow.

Headaches
Headaches, a three-piece bro punk rock band from Braunton,North Devon, are making a huge impression in the music industry right now. Influenced by the likes of legendary bands such as the Ramones, Snuff and Green Day, Headaches have just released their new album 'Eight Steps to Sobriety' on June 9th 2023. This boisterous album reflects on the chaotic lifestyle of getting drunk, or not, in the midst of the Lockdowns, something which many of us can relate to.
Headaches are scheduled to play a number of live concerts throughout the summer, with Gold Coast oceanfest on June 18th, and Bideford Palladium on August 12th. Further dates are soon to follow, as well as plenty of exciting content on their Bandcamp.
Those looking for an added peek into the lives of Headache should also check out their Instagram posts (@headachespunkrock) and their Bandcamp page (headaches Punk Rock). In a time where music venues are closing all too soon, nothing quite beats the energy and passion of seeing Headache perform live and loud.
Check them out wherever you can; you won't regret it.
