Dance of Death

 On the wall of the gallery was a picture with the title Dance of Death depicting a skeleton wearing a crown made of small childlike bones  holding long handled scythe with a very sharp looking .

The skeleton eyes seemed to stare into your very soul and a poem entered my mind like an earworm repeating again and again.

(All are equal in the face of death, one fateful day I will puck you out of your pretty little coffin where you thought was your final place of rest ,
I raise my huge skeletal hand and grip tightly your skull all with a malicious glee.
Then I will decide whether you end up in front of the pearly gates or savour the taste of eternal hell)

Soon I was engrossed in pleasures or vocations which are unceremoniously interrupted by death.

I was awakened away from my nightmarish daydream by a nudge from my friend, but that image stayed with me until I was on my deathbed.

• Intruder’ (episode 5): “Oshikiri had a concern. Although he should be the only one at home, he heard footsteps. Could these footsteps be intruders from another dimension!”

  ‘Long Hair in the Attic’ (episode 5): “Chiemi was told by him that he liked her long hair, so she grew it out. However, Chiemi is thrown away. Chiemi asks her sister to bring scissors to cut her long hair. While her sister is bringing the scissors, Chiemi’s head is cut off and disappears.”

 Four x Four Walls’ (episode 4): “As soon as Koichi begins to study, Soichi begins to interfere!　In order to study quietly, Koichi’s room was converted into a room with four walls. But that was only the beginning of the brothers’ fearful pursuit!”

‘The Sandman’s Lair’ (episode 4): “Yuji has not slept for three days. When he sleeps, his other self appears from his dream. His other self is about to appear in the real world!　Mari is asked to watch over him so that he does not fall asleep, and she witnesses a terrible event.”

A balloon with a huge face that looks just like hers floats outside the window and speaks to her. Kazuko, who hears the voice, is unable to move a muscle. It all started when Terumi, a popular idol, committed suicide. Rumors spread that Terumi’s ghost appears, and Shiraishi, who was Terumi’s lover, and Kazuko try to find out if the rumors are true or false. What was said to be Terumi’s ghost was a giant balloon with the same face as Terumi. After that moment, balloons with the same face as the people of the city start to fly in the sky.”

 The bus comes with music blaring. Only children can eat ice cream. On the ice cream bus, you can eat all the ice cream you want! The kids are crazy about the ice cream bus, but something strange is happening on that bus.”

It adapts various stories from Junji Ito, including The Hanging Balloons, Sōichi, and Tomie. It was released on Netflix in January 2023.
