GALLERY: Weird and wonderful animals steal the show for new Guinness World Records

READ MOREOne Durham tortoise has left his competition in the dust by being crowned the fastest the world has ever seen. The speeding tortoise named 'Bertie', from Adventure Valley, Brasside, runs around 0.6 miles per hour. This feat means that Bertie, twice as fast as the average tortoise, could finish a 100m race in just six minutes. Although he may not be competing with Usain Bolt anytime soon, Bertie is content in his "luxury enclosure with his girlfriend Shelly" with plenty of his favourite snack - strawberries. Owner Marco Calzini said: "To be in the book is a dream come true, a massive achievement!” Another adventurous achievement saw a dog break his own record for the most balls caught in just one minute.
