F. T. Camargo

F. T. Camargo
Author

Hello Mark!

Please, see below the questions:

Questions what inspired you?
I believe there is no peace where there is prejudice, greed and lack of freedom.
Freedom, compassion and tolerance are fundamental and very inspiring questions in our lives.

What are your aims?
I have the desire to inspire readers to be proactive caring about the planet, as well as supporting them to live freely and have compassion for their fellow man, for the animals and nature, while accepting other people’s options, religions and cultures.

What plans do you have for the future?
To keep writing with the same goal, engaged in causes of animal defense, poor children and the environment. Sharing more and more, day by day… I think we all have the responsibility to do our part…

Thank you very much for this opportunity.

Please, let me know once the interview is on-line.

Best,

From Loch Ness to Bigfoot, 10 Mythical Monsters Worth Traveling For

From Loch Ness to Bigfoot, 10 Mythical Monsters Worth Traveling ForThe Loch Ness Monster — real or fiction? (Photo by Sam Forencich/Corbis. Design by Erik Mace for Yahoo Travel.) Even small children know that monsters are something you run away from. Yet, there are adventurous grownups who rush toward them — and they’re willing to travel the world to do so. A great way to spice up an international adventure is to go hunting for a mythical creature. You can roam the area where the creature is said to live. You can bring every camera you own in hopes of catching the kind of vague, grainy pic or video guaranteed to end up on a monster-hunting adventure show. And hearing the tall tales (some taller than others) about the creatures and their legendary exploits is a great way to get a taste of local color. Sure, you’ve probably heard of the giants of the “mythical creature” genre, such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. But the world is full of creepy creatures of the wild just waiting to be discovered by travelers. Here are some of them-READ MORE-https://www.yahoo.com/travel/10-mythical-monsters-worth-traveling-for-127718149077.html

Watch The Utterly Strange TAILYPO

his short film is hard to describe, creature feature fans will find a lot to love within Tailypo. A man and his dog are out hunting dinner in the woods, and he cuts off the tale of a very strange creature they come across. Afterward, they are goaded by a strange voice all night until all hell breaks loose... And that's the tale of Tailypo, an Appalachian cryptozoology folk tale from Cameron McCasland, an Emmy-nominated writer and film producer. McCasland says, "The first time I heard this legend I was in elementary school, and my teacher told it to us around Halloween. It always stuck with me, and creeped me out. I wanted to tell it again, in a way that was frightening, but still accessible in the same way it was to me as a kid. "Tailypo is voiced by Penny Dreadful (Danielle Geleherter), and is the first in a series of shorts for an anthology series hosted by McCasland's longtime collaborator, horror host Dr. Gangrene (Larry Underwood). Big Art and Big Ideas in Jack Kirby's 'Devil Dinosaur'

Marvel Comics just announced a new series that, frankly, has me pretty darned excited. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, scheduled for a November release, is part of the publisher’s “All-New, All-Different” marketing and publishing push, and boy does it look promising. The series—by Amy Reeder, Brandon Montclaire and Natacha Bustos—will feature the pre-teen heroics of Lunella Lafayette, a.k.a. Moon Girl. Lunella is a Reed Richards-style Marvel super-genius with Inhuman DNA. She is also the best friend and companion of a bright red T-Rex known as Devil Dinosaur. I’ll be there for the first -READ MORE-http://www.popmatters.com/feature/196848-big-art-and-big-ideas-in-jack-kirbys-devil-dinosaur/

Chuggaboom interview

Interview with John Virgo - Guitar
What inspired you?
After a very successful career in world snooker and TV broadcasting, i felt a real need to spread my wings and try my hand at something a little different. Given my natural gift for ball control, I felt the music industry was calling for me. Through school all the teachers said I could do whatever I liked as long as I put my mind to it. Luckily with metal core, I don't even have to do that. Constant answerphone messages from Jim also help.
What are your aims?
Apart from scoring a 147 break in a competitive match, I promised myself I would never have dreams. Dreams only leave you disappointed. I do wish that one day I will put a USB stick in the right way round, first time.
What plans do you have for the future?
For me, I have always liked Spain. It would be nice to settle down one day on the Riviera. Imagine it, a few nice bottles of Rioja, stowed away in the pantry, to drink at my leisure.

CROW CIRCLES INFO I TRIED TO FIND OUT.

Hi you don't know me but i know steve snd he gave me your bame as trying to do research into crop circles for my blog can you help ..mark. .ghostmanraines.What KIND of research are you asking me to help with? Describe in some detail. And check the BLT website (www.bltresearch.com) to see the kind of research we can do. If you check the "Professional Consultants" page you'll see the the kinds of scientists we work with--their areas of expertise.http://www.bltresearch.com/.Basically i want to know in layman's terms when did circles frist start, fake or non fake etc.I don't think there is anyone who could tell you with certainty WHEN the circle phenomenon first occurred. We have evidence that the phenomenon may have been observed in the UK as far bcd as the 1500s and/or 1600s (www.bltresearch.com/otherfacts.php). As to when people began making them, again I don't know of anyone--other than whomever that first hoaxer may have been--who could give you that answer either.-http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/interface2005.htm-THE ABOVE IS INFORMATION I TRIED TO FIND OUT ABOUT CROP CIRCLES IN SIMPLE TERMS.THIS IS MY IDEA OF CROP CIRCLES -MATHMATICAL IMAGES DESIGNED TO HELP US EITHER TO TALK TO THEM OR FIND THEN -ALIENS-PICTURES LIKE A SPIROGRAPH DONE BY JUVNILE ALIENS AS ART OR JUST SOMEONE MUCKING ABOUT BUT AS FOLK LORE HAS PROVEN ALL TALES HAVE A  SMUDGE OF TRUTH.

Cancer

The disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body. Cancer refers to any one of a large number of diseases characterized by the development of abnormal cells that divide uncontrollably and have the ability to infiltrate and destroy normal body tissue. Cancer also has the ability to spread throughout your body.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the World. But survival rates are improving for many types of cancer, thanks to improvements in cancer screening and cancer treatment. he following are the most common signs and symptoms of cancer. If you have a symptom that isn’t listed here and that’s lasted for a few weeks, it’s a good idea to discuss it with your GP.

Lumps You should see your GP if you notice a lump or swelling anywhere on your body.

It can be useful to tell your GP how long it’s been there and if it’s getting bigger or causes discomfort. It can be difficult to tell what a lump is just by feeling it. But if your GP suspects that you might have a cancer, they will refer you to an appropriate specialist for further tests.

Coughing and breathlessness If you have a cough or feel breathless for more than three weeks, you should see your GP. Tell them if you have any blood in your sputum (phlegm) when you cough.

Change in bowel habit Blood in your stools (bowel motions) can be a symptom of bowel cancer. The blood is usually dark but can be bright red in colour. You may notice a change in your normal bowel pattern, such as diarrhoea or constipation, for no obvious reason. Some people may have alternating episodes of diarrhoea and constipation. You may have a feeling of not having emptied your bowel properly after a bowel motion. Some people have pain in the tummy (abdomen) or back passage.

If any changes in bowel habit last for more than six weeks, you should check them out with your GP.

Abnormal bleedingUnexplained bleeding should always be checked out by your GP.Any unexplained bleeding is a sign that something might be wrong and should always be checked out by your GP.Bleeding between periods or after sex may be caused by cancer of the womb or cervix. Women who have any vaginal bleeding after they have had their menopause should always see their GP.Blood in your urine may be caused by bladder or kidney cancer.Coughing up blood in your sputum (phlegm) can sometimes be a sign of lung cancer.Vomiting blood can be a sign of stomach cancer, although it can also be due to a stomach ulcer.Bruising and nosebleeds are rarely signs of cancer, but can in some cases be caused by leukaemia. However, people with leukaemia usually have other symptoms too.Unexplained weight lossIf you've lost a lot of weight over a short period of time (a couple of months or less) that can't be explained by changes in your diet, increased exercise or stress, it's important to tell your GP.Suspicious moles or skin changesMalignant melanoma is a type of skin cancer that often starts with a change in the appearance of normal skin. This can look like an abnormal new mole. Fewer than one third of melanomas develop in existing moles. Any of the following changes should always be checked out.Asymmetry - Melanomas are likely to be irregular or asymmetrical. Ordinary moles are usually symmetrical (both halves look the same).Border - Melanomas are more likely to have an irregular border with jagged edges. Ordinary moles usually have a well-defined, regular border.Colour - Moles tend to be one shade of brown. Melanomas often have more than one colour.Diameter (width) - Melanomas are usually more than 7mm in diameter. Moles are normally no bigger than the blunt end of a pencil (about 6mm across).Evolving (changing) - Look for changes in the size, shape or colour of a mole. It's important to see your GP if you have any unusual marks on the skin that last for more than a few weeks, or if you have a mole that shows any of the above signs.HoarsenessA hoarse voice may be a sign of cancer of the larynx. Hoarseness can occasionally be a symptom of other cancers, such as thyroid cancer, cancer of the gullet (oesophagus) or lung cancer. If hoarseness continues for longer than two weeks, you should tell your GP.PainPeople often think that pain is a symptom of cancer, but many people with cancer have no pain in the early stages. Some people with cancer will never have pain. Evidence-based research has shown that there are hundreds of known and effective cancer cures. Here are some very simple protocols that will give you an edge if you are afflicted with cancer.

Baking Soda tsp. of baking soda and the juice of 1 organic lemon in 8 ounces of water several times per day is a very easy way to alkalize the body. Cancer cells can't grow in an alkaline body.
Blood Root Blood root is a perennial plant that contains a plant alkaloid called Sanguinarine. Sanguinarine kills cancer cells only and does not harm your healthy cells. It can be used internally or applied externally in a salve for superficial cancers.
Chaga Chaga is a medicinal mushroom that has been studied in laboratories for many years. It has shown much promise as an immune system modulator and has many anti-cancer properties.
Vitamin D Checking your blood serum Vitamin D levels could help you prevent cancer and speed up your recovery from cancer. A study conducted in 2006 indicated that lower levels of blood serum Vitamin D were associated with a poorer overall survival rate of post-menopausal breast cancer patients.
Essiac Tea The original formulation of this tea was actually an old Native Indian recipe that had been used for hundreds of years. A Canadian nurse learned about it and started sharing it with some of her cancer patients and she began to see amazing recoveries. The tea, comprised of several anti-cancer and cleansing herbs, can be consumed several times per day.
Flax Seeds and cottage cheese Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist and physicist, is credited for this healing concoction that has seen a 90 percent success rate spanning over 50 years. The combination of these two foods provides essential fatty acids and lipoproteins that reduce tumors and restore health.
Hemp Oil The cannabinoids in hemp kill cancer cells. Period. And like all other herbal remedies, the plant chemicals do not harm healthy cells. There have been numerous studies conducted with reported beneficial effects on many types of cancers, including breast cancer.
Iodine It is estimated that over 85 percent of the world's population is iodine deficient. Since estrogen production increases with iodine deficiency, make sure you have your iodine levels tested every year.
Melatonin Melatonin is a powerful breast cancer cell inhibitor. In fact, in laboratory studies, it actually put breast cancer cells to sleep and slowed down the growth by 70percent. Melatonin also counteracts the effects of environmental estrogens.
Broccoli Sprouts  While cruciferous vegetables in general have been promoted for their anti-cancer properties, broccoli sprouts are up to 100 times more potent. The sprouts contain Sulforaphane which not only kills cancer cells, but actually suppresses the growth and spread of many types of cancers. There are literally hundreds of known cancer cures that have saved countless lives. Of course, healing cancer involves healing the body as a whole. Lifestyle and dietary changes are also essential since cancer is just the symptom and NOT the cause. If you know anyone who is afflicted with cancer, please share this information and be a messenger of hope

Looks crazy, but it's actually genius.

This is one of those stories that doesn't make a lot of sense until you've heard the science behind it: earlier this week the mayor of LA Eric Garcetti helped to dump 20,000 small black plastic balls into the city's reservoir. It marks the final phase of a the innovative project, in which a total of 96 million balls have been poured into the 175-acre man-made lake.

The reason? These 'shade balls', as they're known, are actually very effective at keeping water clean and protecting it from evaporation - an issue that those living in Los Angeles and the rest of California are only too aware of right now. Each ball is weighed down with a little water, they're cheap (costing just 36 cents per unit), and they can last for 10 years before they need to be replaced.

Although the LA Department of Water and Power is the first utility company to use shade balls to protect its water, the little orbs themselves aren't a new invention. In the past they've been used to keep birds away from water tanks at airports and prevent water evaporation at oil and gas sites.

And the primary reason for deploying the hollow balls is more to protect the quality of the water rather than to simply stop it evaporating. In the reservoir water, the naturally occurring bromide was mixing with sunlight and chlorine (added to disinfect drinking water) to create dangerous levels of the the carcinogen bromate. Shade balls should stop that harmful chemical reaction from happening at a large scale, and of course by deflecting the Sun's rays, they also keep more of the water in liquid form.

"In the midst of California’s historic drought, it takes bold ingenuity to maximise my goals for water conservation," said Mayor Eric Garcetti in a statement. "This effort by LADWP is emblematic of the kind of the creative thinking we need to meet those challenges. Together, we’ve led the charge to cut our city’s water usage by 13 percent, and today we complete an infrastructure investment that saves our ratepayers millions and protects a vital source of drinking water for years to come."

It's estimated that some 300 million gallons of water a year can be saved with the shade balls. That's not a massive figure compared with the 13.6 billion gallons of water LA residents worked their way through in June, but it's something, even if it does give the top of the reservoir a rather eerie and alien-like sheen. Among the other drought-fighting measures in the pipeline is a plan to pull water from the Pacific Ocean.

Mental health

,What is mental illness...Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors.

Many people have mental health concerns from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing signs and symptoms cause frequent stress and affect your ability to function. A mental illness can make you miserable and can cause problems in your daily life, such as at work or in relationships. In most cases, mental illness symptoms can be managed with a combination of medications and counseling (psychotherapy. Mental illnesses, in general, are thought to be caused by a variety of genetic and environmental factors:

Inherited traits. Mental illness is more common in people whose biological (blood) relatives also have a mental illness. Certain genes may increase your risk of developing a mental illness, and your life situation may trigger the actual mental illness.

Environmental exposures before birth. Exposure to viruses, toxins, alcohol or drugs while in the womb can sometimes be linked to mental illness.

Negative life experiences. Situations in your life, such as the loss of a loved one, financial problems and high stress, can play a role in triggering mental illness. So can an upbringing that leads to poor self-esteem or a history of sexual or physical abuse. Life experiences can lead to unhealthy patterns of thinking linked to mental illness, such as pessimism or distorted ways of thinking.

Brain chemistry. Biochemical changes in the brain are thought to affect mood and other aspects of mental health. Naturally occurring brain chemicals called neurotransmitters play a role in some mental illnesses. In some cases, hormonal imbalances affect mental health. It's thought that inherited traits, life experiences and biological factors can all affect brain chemistry linked to mental illnesses Signs and symptoms of mental illness can vary, depending on the particular disorder, circumstances and other factors. Mental illness symptoms can affect emotions, thoughts and behaviors.

Examples of signs and symptoms include:

Feeling sad or down
Confused thinking or reduced ability to concentrate
Excessive fears or worries
Extreme mood changes of highs and lows
Withdrawal from friends and activities
Significant tiredness, low energy or problems sleeping
Detachment from reality (delusions), paranoia or hallucinations
Inability to cope with daily problems or stress
Extreme feelings of guilt
Alcohol or drug abuse
Major changes in eating habits
Sex drive changes
Excessive anger, hostility or violence
Suicidal thinking
Sometimes symptoms of a mental health disorder appear as physical problems, such as abdominal pain, back pain, headache, or other unexplained aches and pains In most cases, a mental illness won't get better if you try to treat it on your own without professional care. But you can do some things for yourself that will build on your treatment plan:

Stick to your treatment plan. Don't skip therapy sessions. Even if you're feeling better, don't skip your medications. If you stop, symptoms may come back. You could also have withdrawal-like symptoms if you stop a medication too suddenly. If you have bothersome medication side effects or other problems with your treatment, talk to your doctor before making changes.
Avoid alcohol and drug use. Using alcohol or illegal drugs can make it difficult to treat a mental illness. If you're addicted, quitting can be a real challenge. If you can't quit on your own, see your doctor or find a support group to help you.
Stay active. Exercise can help you manage symptoms such as depression, stress and anxiety. Physical activity can also counteract the effects of some psychiatric medications that may cause weight gain. Consider walking, jogging, swimming, gardening or taking up another form of physical activity that you enjoy. Even light physical activity can make a difference.
Don't make important decisions when your symptoms are severe. Avoid decision making when you're in the depth of mental illness symptoms, since you may not be thinking clearly.
Prioritize your life. You can reduce the impact of your mental illness by carefully managing your time and energy. Cut back on obligations when necessary, and set reasonable goals for yourself. Give yourself permission to do less when your symptoms are bad. You may find it helpful to make a list of daily tasks, use sticky notes as reminders, or use a planner to structure your time and stay organized.
Learn to adopt a positive attitude. Focusing on the positive things in your life can make your life better and may even improve your health. Try to accept changes when they occur, and keep problems in perspective. All the above is a medical dictionary definition my personal  experience is no mental health problems go by the textbook and if you  treat  the person  affected  as a human being  you can get a very good  insight, how you may say dear reader wel i have mental health problems. .o.cd,paranoid, and worked as a  care worker  in this field  for 10 years and no i am not a expert judt someone who likes to help others.

Singapore's 1940s teenage weightlifting beauty queen

To be both a beauty queen and a champion weightlifter is not unheard of nowadays, but in 1940s Singapore it was a very unusual path for a young girl. Ho Lye Toh was a teenager who could lift weights of up to 100kg (220lb). Now 92, she might be Singapore's most famous nonagenarian after her remarkable life story surfaced in an article earlier this year and enraptured the city. Her father was Ho Peng Khoen, a school teacher and former Malayan weightlifting champion. In 1941, he made a decision that changed her life. "I was 14 and I fell sick quite often, sometimes so bad that I would pass out. So my father decided I should begin exercising to build body strength," Madam Ho said. "He was the reason I got started on weightlifting. He taught me how to press and pull weights and dumbbells and I did that every evening after I came back from school."READ MORE-http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-33750637Madam Ho lifts weights during an earlier training session

Why do wrestlers so often die young?

Roddy Piper and Chris Jericho

Mr Perfect, The Ultimate Warrior and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper may sound like names from a comic book, but the cognoscenti will recognise them as former superstars of the world of professional wrestling. All of them also died unexpectedly and at a relatively young age.
Mr Perfect died in 2003 of acute cocaine intoxication at the age of 44. The Ultimate Warrior died last year of a heart attack, aged 54. Most recent to go was "Rowdy" Roddy Piper who died suddenly on 31 July of a heart attack. He was 61.
So do former wrestlers die younger than athletes who take part in other sports?
"Yes the statistical evidence is quite strong when we look at the mortality rate for wrestlers compared to other sports and the general population," says John Moriarty of Manchester University.

Researchers like Moriarty face some difficulties getting hold of data, as no official body collects statistics about the deaths of those who have spent a career in the ring.
His approach has been to aggregate the findings of others who have studied the problem.
He points to research by academics at the University of Eastern Michigan who studied a group of 557 former wrestlers.
Of the 62 wrestlers in this group who died between 1985 and 2011, 49 died before -READ MORE -http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-33817959

Gordon the Gopher: Back from rehab

"Whatever happened to Gordon the Gopher" was the question that re-kindled Gordon's career. Ryan McDermott's Grandmother posed the question after finding a puppet of the 80s star in the loft during a clear-out. Inspired by the question, director Ryan and co-scriptwriter Adam Brown set about bringing Gordon back to the limelight. "There's this terrific back-story with Philip Schofield", said Ryan, "Gordon's thinking he should have been the star... He's the one who sold 300 thousand annuals. Adam explained the past few years have been tough for Gordon, with him developing an "ironic" addiction to gin, but that he is now "on the road to recovery" and ready to return to the spotlight. The new Gordon the Gopher pilot, starring Warwick Davies as the voice of Gordon, can be viewed on the BBC Comedy Taster site. This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast on Friday 7 August 2015. Tennis elbow ,one of my problems

Tennis elbowSymptomsCausesTreatmentPrevention

Treating tennis elbow

Tennis elbow is a self-limiting condition, which means it will eventually get better without treatment.

However, it can often last for several weeks or months, because tendons heal slowly. In some cases, tennis elbow can persist for more than a year.

A number of simple treatments can help alleviate the pain of tennis elbow. The most important thing you can do is rest your injured arm and stop doing the activity that caused the problem (see below).

Holding a cold compress, such as a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel, against your elbow for a few minutes several times a day can help ease the pain.

Invasive treatments, such as surgery, will usually only be considered in severe and persistent cases of tennis elbow, where non-surgical approaches have not been effective.

Read on to learn about the different treatments you may be offered. You can also see a summary of the pros and cons of these treatments, which allows you to easily compare your options.

Avoiding or modifying activities

If you have tennis elbow, you should stop doing activities that strain affected muscles and tendons.

If you use your arms at work to carry out manual tasks, such as lifting, you may need to avoid these activities until the pain in your arm improves.

Alternatively, you may be able to modify the way you perform these types of movements so they do not place strain on your arm.

Talk to your employer about avoiding or modifying activities that could aggravate your arm and make the pain worse.

Painkillers and NSAIDs

Taking painkillers, such as paracetamol, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, may help ease mild pain and inflammation caused by tennis elbow.

As well as tablets, NSAIDs are also available as creams and gels (topical NSAIDs). They are applied directly to a specific area of your body, such as your elbow and forearm.

Topical NSAIDs are often recommended for musculoskeletal conditions, such as tennis elbow, rather than anti-inflammatory tablets. This is because they can reduce inflammation and pain without causing side effects, such as nausea and diarrhoea.

Some NSAIDs are available over the counter without a prescription, while others are only available on prescription. Your GP or pharmacist will be able to recommend a suitable NSAID.

Read more about non-prescription and prescription-only medicines.

Physiotherapy

Your GP may refer you to a physiotherapist if your tennis elbow is causing more severe or persistent pain. Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who use a variety of methods to restore movement to injured areas of the body.

Your physiotherapist may use manual therapy techniques, such as massage and manipulation, to relieve pain and stiffness, and encourage blood flow to your arm. They can also show you exercises you can do to keep your arm mobile and strengthen your forearm muscles.

The use of an orthoses – such as a brace, strapping, support bandage or splint – may also be recommended in the short term.

Read more about physiotherapy.

Corticosteroid injections

Corticosteroid injections are sometimes used to treat particularly painful musculoskeletal problems. However, there is limited clinical evidence to support their use as an effective treatment for tennis elbow.

Corticosteroids are a type of medication that contain man-made versions of the hormone cortisol.

Corticosteroid injections may help reduce the pain of tennis elbow in the short term, but their long-term effectiveness has been shown to be poor.

The injection will be made directly into the painful area around your elbow. Before you have the injection, you may be given a local anaesthetic to numb the area to reduce the pain.

Shock wave therapy

Shock wave therapy is a non-invasive treatment, where high-energy shock waves are passed through the skin to help relieve pain and promote movement in the affected area.

How many sessions you will need depends on the severity of your pain. You may have a local anaesthetic to reduce any pain or discomfort during the procedure.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) states that shock wave therapy is safe, although it can cause minor side effects, including bruising and reddening of skin in the area being treated.

Research shows that shock wave therapy can help improve the pain of tennis elbow in some cases. However, it may not work in all cases, and further research is needed.

Surgery

Surgery may be recommended as a last resort treatment in cases where tennis elbow is causing severe and persistent pain. The damaged part of the tendon will be removed to relieve the painful symptoms.

Painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication may help reduce mild pain and inflammation caused by tennis elbow.

Aquariums 'deliver significant health benefits'

People who spend time in aquariums could improve their physical and mental wellbeing, a study has suggested. As well as improving people's mood, the experiment showed "significant" reductions in participants' heart rates and blood pressure, the authors added. Previous studies have linked contact with nature and improved wellbeing but this study is believed to be the first controlled experiment of its kind. The findings appear in the journal Environment and Behavior. "There have been a few studies that have looked at things like the number of bird or butterfly species in parks and researchers have asked people in those parks about how they felt," explained co-author Mathew White from the University of Exeter's European Centre for Environment and Human Health (ECEHH). "Generally, people felt happier in parks that had more birds or more butterflies, although people did not really appreciate the levels of biodiversity." Dr White told BBC News that there were a number of reasons why the team of researchers from the ECEHH, Plymouth University and the National Marine Aquarium were interested in the potential impact of aquariums on people's wellbeing. "Firstly, we were particularly interested in aquatic environments," he said. "Obviously most people cannot see different kinds of fish because they do not dive etc, so aquariums are a nice way to make the invisible marine environment just outside our doors visible and accessible. "More fundamentally, we were interested in how natural environments could be brought to urban populations and to people who might not be able to access nature -READ MORE -http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-33716589Coral seas aquarium tank (Image courtesy of the National Marine Aquarium)
