CRISTAL SIPPLE UNDERWOOD AND ANDREW UNDERWOOD -AUTHOR S -SECRET OF 8-THE WANDERING

Cristal Sipple-Underwood was born & raised in Erie, PA. Her passion has always been writing. She credits being an avid daydreamer as her fuel for creativity.  She is a mother of one adult daughter Megan Grace and “Extra” mom to Andy’s four grown children.  She started writing stories and poems in elementary school and has never stopped.  Writing books that encourage inclusion, anti-bullying and acceptance is her lifelong goal.

Andrew Underwood was born and raised in Salem, Utah. He is a father of four children and expecting his first grandchild and he is an avid paranormal investigator.  He was a self-proclaimed weird kid growing up and wants to show through his writing that being different is better than being ordinary.

Cristal and Andy met through a creative writing group in 2007 and became fast friends.  They were married in 2016 and released their first book in the Series “Secret of 8” in 2018.  They reside in Girard with their two golden retrievers and a cat named Maisey.

Our main goal as writers is to show today's kids that you can accept the differences in appearance, abilities/disabilities or lifestyle instead of tolerating or bullying. We are hopeful that the children of today will change the way our world thinks and acts in the future.

Secret of 8:

Imagine a world where being different was better than being ordinary.  Six misfit kids (Sarah-The Ginger, Ben-the geek, Nate-The Deaf Kid, Marcus-The Bully, Steph-The dreamer, and Mike with his imaginary friend) find themselves part of an unsolved mystery when Ben and his family move into a haunted house.  Not only do they all find acceptance but unite together to become ghost hunters.  By using their unique abilities and teamwork, they get one step closer to solving the case.  They never imagined the magical transformation their lives would take.

The Wandering:

Imagine a world where being different is better than being ordinary.  In book two of the series, Sarah and Ben, along with their friends, embark on another paranormal adventure.  Two weeks after solving a murder mystery in their home town, the kids are headed to summer camp.  Little did their parents know, keeping them out of trouble would be way more difficult than anticipated.  Once more, the ghost-hunting team of misfit kids, are thrown into uncharted territory.  New alliances bring unexpected changes to their recently discovered powers and to the purpose of their group abilities.  A purpose that surpasses all expectations and steers them toward a future they may not be ready for.  This will be a summer to remember and the beginning of a lifetime of self-discovery

This is a unique story that was written in two points of view. The female and male voice allows the reader to see through the eyes of Sarah and Ben. Since this book portrays life during the 1920’s and 1980’s, we have created an informative webpage for our younger readers. History can be fun!
