THE PRISONER 50 YEARS OLD

This is a series I watched in reruns  and like it's weird and quirky look .I AM NOT A NUMBER I AM A FREE MAN.
The Prisoner

This article is about the 1967 British TV series. For other uses, see Prisoner (disambiguation).

The Prisoner is a 17-episode British television series[2] first broadcast in Canada beginning on 6 September 1967 then in the United Kingdom on 29 September 1967 and in the United States on 1 June 1968.[3] It stars and was co-created by Patrick McGoohan, and combines spy fiction with elements of science fiction, allegory and psychological drama.[2]

The series follows a British former secret agent who is abducted and imprisoned in a mysterious coastal village resort, where his captors try to find out why he abruptly resigned from his job. Although the show was sold as a thriller in the mould of the previous series starring McGoohan, Danger Man(1960–68; retitled as Secret Agent in the US), its combination of 1960s counterculturalthemes and surrealistic setting had a far-reaching influence on science fiction and fantasy TV programming, and on narrative popular culture in general.[4]

A toy traffic cone has been found in the lung of a man 40 years after he inhaled it.

It was originally thought that the unnamed 47-year-old man from Preston might have cancer.

He was referred to a respiratory clinic after complaining of coughing up yellow mucus and feeling unwell for over a year.

Medics initially thought the patient, who had also recently suffered pneumonia and had been a long-term smoker, had a tumour after an x-ray showed a mass in a lung.

However during a bronchoscopy, which was carried out to help aid diagnosis, they realised it was a “long-lost Playmobil traffic cone” the patient had received on his seventh birthday.

The miniature plastic cone, about 1cm in length, was removed with biopsy forceps.

Doctors writing in BMJ Case Reportssaid: “Following the procedure, the patient reported that he regularly played with and even swallowed pieces of Playmobil during his childhood.

“He recalled being given this Playmobil set for his seventh birthday and believes he aspirated the toy traffic cone soon after.”

While it is a common occurrence for children to accidentally inhale small objects, “a case in which the onset of symptoms occurs so long after initial aspiration is unheard of”.

The doctors said that to their knowledge, it was the first reported case of a tracheobronchial foreign body that was overlooked for 40 years.

Bagpipe lung – a new name for a very old disease

“This may be because aspiration occurred at such a young age that the patient’s airway was able to remodel and adapt to the presence of this foreign body,” the report said.

They added that during childhood, the object may have been absorbed into the lining of the lung, which developed around it.

Four months after the removal of the tiny traffic cone, the patient’s cough had nearly cleared and his other symptoms had markedly improved.

The medics said: “On a positive note, his symptoms improved markedly and he finally found his long-lost Playmobil traffic cone in the very last minute

The lecture that changed biology

Sixty years ago this week, one of the greatest British scientists, Francis Crick, gave a lecture in London in which he accurately predicted how genes work, setting the course for the genetic revolution we are now living through. Here, evolutionary biologist Professor Matthew Cobb from Manchester University unpicks the predictions that set a new course for how we understand the very stuff we are made from.
In one lecture, it has been said that Francis Crick "permanently altered the logic of biology".
Only four years earlier, he and the young American Jim Watson had solved the double helix structure of DNA, using data gathered by Rosalind Franklin. Aged 41, Crick was still five years away from winning the Nobel Prize for this work, but he had a reputation as a powerful and profound thinker.
He gave his lecture - "On protein synthesis" - at University College London for the Society for Experimental Biology. In it, Crick spoke about how genes do what they do. At the time, this subject was still very murky - some scientists were not even convinced that genes were made of DNA.
But Crick delivered four predictions about genes - and their link to the proteins that build our bodies. In each of these ideas, he was right.=READ MORE

ROVIC GUTIERREZ INTERVIEW

INSPIRATION
As a teacher, I’m inspired with people, particularly teenagers who are experiencing struggles in life. I love to extract lessons and strengths out of these challenges, ‘cause I too experienced such phase in my life. Depression has been a great monster to people that haunts happiness and life and I’m inspired to combat it through ink.

AIMS
I wanted to reach millions of readers and hoping my book will serve as a medicine to struggling teens or people and be their own hero. The world now is a brutal area where we face a life and death battle all the time. I aspire to bring back the truth of fairytales and happy endings in this world full of materialism. I hope that my book can be a weapon to anyone who’s in their lowest point. I pray that whoever will have the interest to read my book, words will come to life and that they will feel and resonate with it.
FUTURE PLAN
I’ll continue writing. I’ll never stop seeking for inspiration. I’ll always want to connect, to inspire and to cross territories for my novels. I’ll stick to pen and paper in inking the dying goodness and the blurred definition of life now. I will, no matter what, write for the unheard, underprivileged, ugly (in the sight of the world’s standards), obese, broken families, and depressed.

DOCTORS THINK THIS ME?

Dissociative disorders

Explains what dissociative disorders are, including possible causes and how you can access treatment and support. Includes tips for helping yourself, and guidance for friends and family.

What is dissociation?

Dissociation is one way the mind copes with too much stress, such as during a traumatic event. The word dissociation can be used in different ways but it usually describes an experience where you feel disconnected in some way from the world around you or from yourself.
If you dissociate for a long time, especially when you are young, you may develop a dissociative disorder. Instead of dissociation being something you experience for a short time it becomes a far more common experience and often the main way you deal with stressful experiences.

When might I dissociate?

Watch Paul, Anamoli, Hayley and Paul talk about what life is like with different types of dissociation.

How might I experience dissociation?

Dissociation can be experienced in lots of different ways.
Psychiatrists have tried to group these experiences and give them names. This can help doctors make a diagnosis of a specific dissociative disorder. But you can have any of these dissociative experiences even if you don't have a diagnosed dissociative disorder.
Some dissociative experiences include:A doctor or psychiatrist might call these experiences:
  • having gaps in your life where you can't remember anything that happened
  • not being able to remember information about yourself or about things that happened in your life
dissociative amnesia
  • travelling to a different location and taking on a new identity for a short time (without remembering your identity)
dissociative fugue
  • feeling as though the world around you is unreal
  • seeing objects changing in shape, size or colour
  • seeing the world as 'lifeless' or 'foggy'
  • feeling as if other people are robots (even though you know they are not)
derealisation
  • feeling as though you are watching yourself in a film or looking at yourself from the outside
  • feeling as if you are just observing your emotions
  • feeling disconnected from parts of your body or your emotions
  • feeling as if you are floating away
  • feeling unsure of the boundaries between yourself and other people
depersonalisation
  • your identity shifting and changing
  • speaking in a different voice or voices
  • using a different name or names
  • switching between different parts of your personality
  • feel as if you are losing control to 'someone else'
  • experience different parts of your identity at different times
  • acting like different people, including children
identity alteration
  • find it very difficult to define what kind of person you are
  • feeling as though there are different people inside you
identify confusion

Triggers and flashbacks

trigger is a reminder of something traumatic from the past, which can cause you to experience dissociation or other reactions. It could be a sight, sound, taste, smell or touch. It could be a situation or way of moving your body. Many different things can be or become triggers.
In a flashback you may suddenly experience traumatic sensations or feelings from the past. This might be prompted by encountering a trigger. You may experience the flashback as reliving a traumatic event in the present. A flashback may cause you to switch to another part of your identity.
I felt like my body didn’t belong to me, it was like I was an outsider watching my own story unfold.
If you have dissociated memories (because of amnesia or because you experience different identity states with different memories) then you may find that these resurface during flashbacks.
